Framing Statement:

In this project I dwelled deep into the environmental studies major here at UNE. Along my journey I discovered what might be my definition of an enriched major, following Ernest Boyer’s insights. I spoke to Professor Bethany Woodworth and learned a lot about her own journey from college to being a professor. She described learning to be fluid, and to expect change in my careers. She didn’t imply this as being a negative, and spoke only positively about what this major has to offer. We discussed the importance of internships, the type of student that best succeeds, among other aspects of learning. I am enlightened by my findings, and I believe I have found a major that offers me the flexibility and framework I desire in my learning.
